Drugs are something that will make your mind dull. This story revolves around a student who was studying in 12th grade and was a drug addict. He was a hardcore drug user and for him doing drugs was how he spent his day rather than going to school. For this student, the more he took the more he wanted.

It took a long time for me to get him off his addiction. I mean he had done everything from heroin to brown sugar. This was more about getting him of his addiction and then helping to get his life back on track. As soon as he would try to get off drugs, the relapse would be so high that he could not control it and soon went back to it. This happened one time after another for five times as he could not handle the relapse. However, as time went by and the more I dealt with him through my spiritual based counselling, he started taking it easy and not panicking. This took about 5 years as he slowly got off his drug addiction but he was confused to how to carry on in his life and was dependent on me all the time. We got very close together that he used to call me 'Ma' every time we had a conversation. He told me that he needed my help to carry on forward otherwise he will be helpless. It was like holding a hand of your own child and letting go of that hand when you knew he was mature enough.
It took him two more years to complete his + 2 examinations but he did it and also finished his Bachelors degree in the next four years. It was quite an achievement for him as one day I called him feeling that he had done something good and that exact day he had got his result of his final exams. He had completed his Bachelors and told me that I had guessed correct that he had done something good. Now, I am proud to say that he is in Australia pursuing further education and every time I hear the word 'Ma', I know it is him.
